Giuseppe Bellanca and Henry B. DuPont established this aircraft manufacturing site in 1928, producing approximately 3,000 aircraft until its closure in 1954.
The National Register of Historic Places recognized this facility in 2005 as the final remaining structure of the original Bellanca Airfield complex.
Located off Route 273 near the Delaware River, the hangar maintains exhibitions of aviation artifacts and technological advancements from the early 20th century.
Clarence Chamberlin and Bert Acosta set a world endurance record here in 1927, flying continuously for 51 hours and covering 4,100 miles.
