Caesar Creek State Park

Caesar Creek State Park is a nature reserve in southwestern Ohio with a large lake formed by a dam. The water stretches across wide areas, surrounded by wooded hills and open meadows.

A dam was built in the late seventies to supply water to the region. An entire village disappeared beneath the new lake.

The village preserves itself and shows daily life from earlier times. Buildings stand together near the entrance, and when you walk the paths connecting them, the whole way of living in early years becomes clear.

Hiking paths run across the grounds and along the shores. Horse trails pass through the wooded sections, separate from the foot trails.

In certain areas, you may gather fossils with your hands. Finds must be small enough to fit in one hand.
