Convocation Center

The Convocation Center spans 215,000 square feet with multiple levels, featuring modern architecture and a 45,000-square-foot main floor for various events.

Opening in 2002, this $36 million facility marked the largest single capital improvement in Northern Illinois University's century-long existence.

The center hosts over 200 annual events, including concerts, theatrical shows, commencement ceremonies, sports competitions, and community gatherings throughout the year.

The facility includes 3,000 parking spaces, grade-level entrances, flexible floor plans, retractable seating, and accommodates up to 10,000 spectators for events.

Victor E. Court, the auxiliary gymnasium, contains 13,440 square feet of Northern Hardwood Maple flooring and can split into two separate event spaces.
