Minoritenkirche, Gothic church in Innere Stadt, Austria

The Minoritenkirche exhibits French Gothic architecture with high vaulted ceilings, pointed arches, and large stained glass windows across its three-nave structure.

Construction of the church began in 1276 under King Ottokar II of Bohemia and required several decades to complete, facing multiple reconstructions after Turkish sieges.

The church houses an exceptional mosaic reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper on its northern wall, measuring the same size as the original painting.

The church conducts services in German at 8:30 AM and Italian at 11:00 AM on Sundays, with direct access from Herrengasse U-Bahn station.

In 2021, the Italian Congregation Mary of the Snows donated the Minoritenkirche to the Society of Saint Pius X, marking a new chapter in its religious administration.
