Ruggburg is a castle ruin in Eichenberg situated on a mountain ridge at approximately 665 meters elevation, displaying remains of a central keep and surrounding fortifications. The original structure was built in the 10th century under the name Trudburg and was destroyed in 1025, with reconstruction taking place between 1040 and 1125. This period of rebuilding established the fortress as an active stronghold for the following centuries.
