Elferkopf, Mountain summit in Allgäu Alps, Austria.

The Elferkopf rises to 2,387 meters above sea level, featuring steep grassy slopes that lead toward the Gemsteltal valley in the Austrian Alps.

When Hermann von Barth reached the summit in 1869, he discovered a signal pole, indicating previous human presence on this mountain peak.

The mountain's name derives from its function as a natural sundial, as the sun positions directly behind its peak at 11 o'clock from the valley.

The ascent to Elferkopf starts at Mittelberg's southern edge, with parking available at Walmendingerhorn for direct access to the Wildental trail.

Elferkopf ranks as the second-highest peak in Kleinwalsertal, connecting to Liechelkopf through a ridge that requires grade II climbing skills.
