Schloss Pöckstein, Early Classical castle in Straßburg, Austria
The four-story rectangular building features grand architectural elements, including a temple-like pavilion with columns and ornate stucco decorations throughout its structure.
Following an earthquake in 1767, Bishop Joseph Franz Anton von Auersperg commissioned architect Johann Georg von Hagenauer to construct this residence between 1778 and 1782.
The state rooms on the main floor maintain their original Early Classical design from 1780, representing an exceptional example of this architectural period in Austria.
The castle contains catering facilities on each floor and offers 16,000 square meters of garden space suitable for outdoor gatherings and celebrations.
The castle houses a two-story chapel adorned with elaborate stucco work, serving as a ceremonial space for weddings and religious celebrations.
