Glödis, Mountain summit in East Tyrol, Austria

The Glödis summit reaches an elevation of 3,206 meters, featuring a distinct peak formation within the Schober Group of the High Tauern range.

The initial documented climb of Glödis took place on July 13, 1871, when J. Pöschl and two guides, Gorgasser and Hutter, reached the mountain peak.

The name Glödis originated from Slavic linguistics, derived from either 'gledna' meaning seeing or 'glodišće' referring to water-eroded landscapes.

The southeast ridge contains a fixed-cable climbing route installed in 2006, offering mountaineers a moderate grade B ascent to reach the summit.

The mountain, formerly known as Großer Gößnitzkopf in Debanttal valley, presents different climbing challenges on each face, including the boulder-filled western ridge.
