Währinger Pfarrkirche, Baroque parish church in Währing, Vienna, Austria.

Währinger Pfarrkirche is a Baroque parish church in Vienna with a spacious hall and a modern extension added during the 1900s. The building features a mechanical organ installed in the late 1980s and sits near the well-known Kutschkermarkt.

A chapel existed at this location from 1213 onward, and construction of the current building began in 1753. The structure has remained a focal point for the Währing neighborhood throughout Vienna's changing history.

The church displays artworks from different periods, including a painting by Peter Strudel and stained glass windows created in the 20th century. These pieces reflect the artistic tastes that have been valued in this space over generations.

The building sits at Gertrudplatz directly across from Kutschkermarkt, making it easy to find. The location is walkable from the nearest subway station and stands in the heart of an active local neighborhood.

Two cannonballs are embedded in the church's front wall, a remnant from an ammunition explosion at a Vienna powder tower. These visible marks serve as a physical reminder of a dramatic past event that left its trace directly on this building.
