Währinger Pfarrkirche, Baroque parish church in Währing, Vienna, Austria.
The Währinger Pfarrkirche features a late Baroque hall structure with a northern extension built during the interwar period of the 20th century.
The first chapel on this site received documentation in 1213, and the current church construction began in 1753 with the foundation stone placement on September 11.
The church displays Peter Strudel's Baroque painting 'Glory of Saint Lawrence' from 1695 and Heinrich Tahedl's stained glass windows from the 1930s.
The church stands at Gertrudplatz, opposite the Kutschkermarkt, and contains a mechanical slider chest organ installed by Rieger Orgelbau in 1988.
Two cannonballs remain embedded in the church's front wall as a memorial to an ammunition explosion at the Vienna powder tower.
