Hochjoch

Hochjoch is a mountain summit in the Silvretta Montafon region that can be reached by cable car from the village of Schruns. The peak sits at around 2,300 meters and offers views across the surrounding peaks and valleys of Vorarlberg.

The mountain was long used for hiking and grazing, but ski infrastructure developed during the 20th century transformed it into a winter sports hub. This expansion brought cable cars and other modern access routes to the peak.

Local mountain festivals at Hochjoch celebrate traditional Alpine customs through music performances, regional food, and seasonal events throughout the year.

Cable cars operate year-round and connect several stations at different elevations on the mountain. Visitors will find restaurants and equipment rental shops at the upper stations.

The Hochjoch Totale run features a rare ski tunnel built into the mountainside and stretches as a long descent across varied terrain. Few visitors know about this unusual route before arriving.
