Malhamspitzen, Mountain summit in High Tauern National Park, Austria
The Malhamspitzen consists of four distinct peaks in the Maurerkamm region, reaching elevations between 3,255 and 3,368 meters above sea level.
The first documented climb of Malhamspitzen took place on July 12, 1873, when Prague mountaineer Victor Hecht and guide Johann Außerhofer scaled the west flank.
The Malhamspitzen peaks form part of Austria's mountaineering heritage, attracting climbers who seek to conquer summits above 3,000 meters in the Alps.
Climbers access the peaks through established routes from Reggentörl, crossing the Simonykees glacier toward the Essener-Rostocker Hut before the final ascent.
The Malhamspitzen maintains four separate summits divided by small cols, surrounded by glaciers that feed the River Isel and Maurerbach waterways.
