Schloss Priela, Medieval castle in Maishofen, Austria
The stone fortress stands at 749 meters elevation on the northern shore of Lake Zell, featuring classical Austrian architectural elements and multiple towers.
First documented in 1425 as the residence of Christian Glaser zu Prielau, the castle underwent major reconstruction between 1560 and 1565 under Hans Christoph Perner.
The entrance displays the coat of arms of Prince-Bishop Sigmund Christoph von Waldburg-Zeil-Trauchburg, the last ecclesiastical ruler of the property.
The castle functions as a hotel with guest rooms, suites, a private beach area, and a park situated 200 meters from Lake Zell.
The property returned to the von Hofmannsthal family in 1947 after World War II before the Porsche family acquired it in 1987.
