Aviary and Eco-Park, Rangunia, Chittagong

The aviary and eco-park is a 30-acre nature reserve featuring an artificial lake, rolling hills, and forest sections arranged with zones for observing birds. The space houses both local and international bird species in dedicated areas.

The reserve is named after Sheikh Russel, the younger brother of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who helped establish the foundations of modern Bangladesh. The name choice honors an important figure from the nation's early independence movement.

The space draws school groups and families who come to learn about local bird species and environmental protection efforts. This reflects how the community values education about nature and conservation.

The location sits about 35 kilometers from Chittagong and is open most days with a rest day on Tuesdays. Visitors can walk through the grounds or use the cable car system that travels over the park for different viewpoints.

Visitors can see pelicans, rosellas, grey parrots, and crowned cranes while riding the cable car system that gives an overview of the entire property. This elevated view offers rare observation chances that are not possible from the ground.
