Dhuppani waterfall

Dhuppani waterfall, Natural waterfall in Rangamati, Bangladesh.

Dhuppani Waterfall is a natural cascade dropping from the Rangamati hills into a deep pool below. Dense forest surrounds the site, creating a sheltered setting where water flows year-round.

The waterfall served as a gathering place for communities settling in the Bilaichari region during the early 20th century. This location became a focal point as settlements expanded into the surrounding hills.

Local inhabitants organize traditional ceremonies near the waterfall during the annual Purnima festival, bringing together different ethnic groups from the Rangamati district.

Reach the site by taking a boat across Kaptai Lake to Bilaichari market, then follow a guided forest path on foot. Wear proper footwear and bring water, as the walk takes time under tree cover.

Underground springs feeding the falls ensure steady water flow even during dry months. This makes the site accessible year-round, unlike other water sources in the region that disappear seasonally.
