Chandanpura Nachghar, Dance hall in Chittagong, Bangladesh
The Chandanpura Nachghar stands as a two-story brick building with 14 rooms, featuring traditional architectural designs and detailed floral patterns on its walls.
Constructed around 250 years ago by zamindar Sajjalela's grandfather, this structure became government property after the family migrated to India during British rule.
The dance hall contains dedicated spaces for professional dancers and performers, reflecting the entertainment traditions of historical Bengali society.
Visitors can find the building near Chandanpura Fire Service Station along Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah Road, although the upper floor requires renovation.
The building maintains its original artistic elements, including deity depictions and craft details that showcase the architectural preferences of wealthy zamindars.
