Baitul Falah, Islamic prayer center in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Baitul Falah is a mosque in Chittagong with traditional Islamic architectural features, large prayer halls, and multiple minarets located on WASA Square. The building accommodates up to 5,000 worshippers and has separate sections for men and women with distinct prayer areas.
The mosque was built in response to the growing Muslim population in Chittagong and later developed into the largest religious facility in the city. Over time it was expanded several times to accommodate the increasing number of worshippers.
The mosque serves as a central gathering place for the community, especially during Eid celebrations when thousands of worshippers come together for prayer. It is a space where the religious life of the city comes alive and people from different neighborhoods meet.
The mosque holds five daily prayer sessions and is open to visitors on regular days, though attending prayers follows local customs. It is best to visit in early morning or late afternoon when fewer people are present and the space is less crowded.
An adjacent eidgah field to the east hosts two of the three largest Eid gatherings in Chittagong. This open ground comes alive during major holidays and provides space for thousands of additional worshippers who cannot fit inside the main building.
