Kruibeke, Administrative division in East Flanders, Belgium
Kruibeke is a municipality made up of three parts in East Flanders. The parts are Bazel, Kruibeke proper, and Rupelmonde, and together they cover an area with rivers and fields.
The area around Kruibeke was first organized as a modern municipality in 1977 when three separate towns were brought together. This consolidation created the administrative structure that exists today.
The area has a long tradition as a home for landed nobility, and until recently a prominent family lived there. Visitors can still see traces of this aristocratic past in local buildings and place names.
The municipality has an administration center in town where residents can handle official matters. Visitors who explore the area will find it helpful to ask locally or visit information points first.
The municipality started a special project in 2003 designed to encourage human connection and positive relationships among residents. This unusual program shows how communities can work on togetherness in creative ways.
