Fort 4

Fort 4 is a military fortification near Antwerp featuring underground tunnels, reinforced concrete buildings, and observation posts positioned for defense. The structure displays early 20th century construction techniques and retains visible evidence of its role in the defensive perimeter.

The fortification was built in the late 1800s as part of Antwerp's defensive system. It was heavily bombed in October 1914 and abandoned by Belgian forces, then suffered additional damage from aerial attacks decades later.

The fort now functions as a memorial site with panels and stones commemorating the citizens who lost their lives during the Second World War.
