Amicale Solvay

Amicale Solvay is a multi-purpose facility that originally combined a performance hall, swimming pool, and restaurant under one roof. The building features abundant window-framed openings across its facades that flood interior spaces with daylight, along with a grand staircase set behind its distinctive semi-circular entrance.

Built between 1937 and 1939 by architect Eleazar Cozac, this facility was created to serve the workers of the Solvay company. Its design drew inspiration from contemporary buildings, particularly a casino structure located in a neighboring town.

This building served as a social hub where workers and their families gathered for performances and entertainment. It reflects how the company wanted to provide spaces where employees could spend time together outside of work.
