Galerie Anspach - Anspachgalerij, Covered passageway in Pentagon, Brussels, Belgium.
Galerie Anspach is a covered passageway in central Brussels that connects Boulevard Anspach to Place de la Monnaie while protecting visitors from weather. It extends across multiple levels and features numerous shops on the ground floor beneath glass-covered corridors.
The passage was established in 1898 on the site of a former hotel and was originally designed as a low-priced retail space. Over the decades it developed into an important shopping destination in the city and underwent several renovations.
The gallery displays architectural elements designed by Victor Horta, a renowned designer whose style remains visible in the facades today. Visitors can observe these details while walking through and see how this approach shaped the appearance of the space.
The location is near De Brouckere metro station and is easily accessible on foot since it connects two major streets. The passage remains usable during bad weather and serves as a constantly busy passageway for pedestrians.
Between 1985 and 1996 the upper floor housed a wax museum featuring representations of Belgian personalities. This temporary exhibition drew many visitors before it eventually closed.
