Homieĺ Palace Complex

Homieĺ Palace Complex is a castle ensemble with an attached park along the Sozh River in eastern Belarus. The site includes a main palace, cathedral, chapel, family vault, and extensive grounds with numerous historical buildings and formal gardens.

A count built the palace in the 18th century, and a field marshal later expanded it with major art collections during the 19th century. These two periods of development shaped what stands today.

The complex reflects how nobility lived and displayed their art collections across multiple buildings and rooms. Walking through, you notice how each space was designed to showcase wealth and refined taste.

The complex is best explored with guided tours that take you through the main buildings and grounds. Plan to spend one to two hours here, as everything is walkable and clearly laid out.

The palace's last owner was a woman who translated major literary works, adding an unexpected link between this building and international culture. Her work shows how the palace remained a center of intellectual activity into modern times.
