Salas de los Infantes, municipality of Spain

Salas de los Infantes is a small town in Burgos province located near the Arlanza river and the Sierra de la Demanda mountains. It has a dinosaur museum with life-size models and fossils, a Renaissance church from the 1500s featuring elaborate stone vaults, and an early 20th-century palace built in modernist style surrounded by gardens.

The town has medieval roots and was once an important stop for traders and travelers. The church of Santa María from the 1500s displays elaborate Renaissance carvings that reflect the town's former importance as a regional hub.

The town's name comes from the legendary Infantes of Lara, figures from medieval stories. Walking through the old streets, you see traditional houses with red tile roofs and distinctive chimneys that were once used to smoke and cure meat.

The town is easily accessible by road in the province and has accommodations and small restaurants serving local specialties. Main attractions like the church and museum can be explored on foot through the compact town center.

Fossils of one of the world's smallest dinosaurs were found near the town, revealing important prehistoric discoveries in the region. The dinosaur museum displays these finds and brings the area's ancient history to life.
