Monastery of Santa María de Armenteira

The monastery contains three naves with semicircular apses, a central pointed barrel vault, and a square cloister displaying 18th-century Baroque architecture.

Founded in 1162 by knight Ero de Armenteira, the monastery experienced abandonment after the church property sales of 1835 until restoration efforts began.

The monastery represents Cistercian architectural principles through its Latin cross design, incorporating Mudéjar-style pendentives in the transept vault construction.
