El Médano

El Médano is a beach shaped like a crescent moon, tucked between a red mountain and an artificial pier with golden sand stretching along the shore. The water here offers moderate waves year-round and attracts people interested in different water sports.

This location started as a small fishing village and transformed over recent decades into a known water sports destination in the Canary Islands. The shift brought new facilities and drew visitors from far away.

The town square serves as a gathering space where local celebrations and traditional Canarian music fill the air during festivals throughout the year. People here gather naturally in this central area to mark important occasions and share their customs.

The beach has showers, restrooms, and equipment rentals available on-site, with comfortable temperatures year-round averaging around 24 degrees Celsius. Restaurants and cafes sit right along the shore, making it easy to grab food or drinks.

The area features three distinct zones for water sports, each with its own conditions: the bay with flat water, the harbor wall with side waves, and Cabezo Beach with onshore waves. Each zone draws different athletes looking to practice their particular skills.
