Reinosa stands at an elevation of 851 meters, surrounded by mountains and positioned near the Ebro River and reservoir in northern Spain.
The settlement received its first documented mention in the year 1000 when Count Sancho García of Castile divided the territory into four distinct areas.
The San Sebastian Church, recognized as a Cultural Heritage site in 1983, exhibits Baroque architecture with an 18th-century tower, portal, and dome.
The municipality functions as an access point to Alto Campoo ski resort, which features 28 kilometers of marked slopes in the Cantabrian Mountains.
The town witnessed the meeting of Prince John and Margaret of Austria in 1497 at the Casa de las Princesas, which remains a significant historical building.
