Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio de Navarra, Congress palace and auditorium in Pamplona, Spain
The Palacio de Congresos and Auditorio de Navarra, also known as Baluarte, is a performance venue in Pamplona featuring two wings arranged in an L-shape. The building shows grey external walls made from Zimbabwean quartzite while interiors display warm wooden finishes throughout.
The structure was built between 1999 and 2003 on the site of the former San Anton bastion, responding to demand for modern cultural facilities. Its placement at this location linked contemporary design with proximity to the historical citadel park.
Today it serves as a gathering place for music lovers, art enthusiasts, and conference participants from across the region. Visitors encounter a dynamic program that brings together local artists and international performers.
The building offers an underground parking garage with around 900 spaces and multiple conference rooms for various event sizes. An on-site restaurant serves local cuisine and sits just steps from the citadel park.
Inside the building, archaeological remnants from the former bastion were preserved within exhibition areas and remain visible to visitors. This blend of modern construction and historical artifacts tells the story of how this location has transformed.
