San Sebastián de los Reyes is a town in the Community of Madrid, covering around 60 square kilometers and located about 20 kilometers north of the capital. The terrain sits at an elevation of about 700 meters and blends urban areas with open spaces on the edge of the metropolitan region.
The town emerged in 1492 as a small settlement and grew over five centuries into a major center within the Madrid metropolitan area. This growth happened alongside the expansion of the capital toward the north.
