La Masia, Football academy in Les Corts, Spain
La Masia is a football training center in Sant Joan Despí, Spain, spread across five floors and offering young players high-quality training facilities. The center combines living quarters with spaces for physical training, instruction, and medical care.
The center opened in 1979 in a farmhouse dating from 1702 located next to Camp Nou. It moved to a purpose-built building at Ciutat Esportiva in 2011.
The name comes from an old Catalan farmhouse that once stood near Camp Nou and served as the first home for young players. Talented athletes from around the world train here following a philosophy that emphasizes technical skill and quick passing.
Visitors usually cannot enter the grounds without prior arrangement, as it is an active training facility. The site is located in Sant Joan Despí, slightly outside central Barcelona.
In 2010, all three finalists for the Ballon d'Or came from this training center: Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta, and Xavi Hernández. This achievement brought global recognition and highlighted the quality of youth development.
