Can Planes

Can Planes is a traditional farmhouse in Les Corts featuring a sundial on its main facade and a stone coat of arms above the entrance. The structure displays vernacular Catalan architecture with stone walls and details typical of rural estates in this region.

The building was completed in 1702 when Magí Planes rebuilt it on the foundation of a tower that Pere Planes had purchased in 1662. This merging of an earlier foundation with new construction shows how the Planes family adapted and preserved their property over time.

The building displays traditional Catalan rural construction with stone and wooden beams that reflect how farming families organized their homes. Its layout shows the practical choices farmers made to live and work in the countryside.

The house sits near Camp Nou stadium and can be viewed from the outside while exploring the surrounding area. Walking through the La Maternitat i Sant Ramon neighborhood is the best way to spot it and observe the facade and its architectural details.

Barcelona Football Club purchased the property in 1950 and relocated the building several meters during the construction of Camp Nou stadium. This relocation makes it a rare example of how historic structures were adapted to accommodate modern urban growth.
