The construction of this religious building began in 1941 to create a permanent home for the statue of Virgin of Hope, known as La Macarena.

The basilica houses the revered statue of Virgin of Hope, which leads processions during Holy Week celebrations through the streets of Seville.

Visitors can access the basilica through public transportation, with multiple bus routes stopping near Calle Bécquer 1 in the Macarena neighborhood.

The statue of La Macarena wears five diamond and emerald brooches, gifted by the matador Joselito El Gallo in 1912.
