Iglesia de San Martín, Gothic church in historic center of Seville, Spain.

Iglesia de San Martín is a church in the historic center of Seville with a single wide nave covered by ribbed vaults and supported by thick buttresses. The entire building is made of brick and displays two distinct brick facades that show the builders' craftsmanship.

This church was built during the 15th century and involved Alonso Rodriguez, who later worked as master builder at Seville Cathedral. This period saw strong church construction activity across the city as many religious buildings were being raised.

The church is named after Saint Martin and reflects religious devotion that has been part of Seville since medieval times. Inside, you find works created by local artists over the centuries, showing the artistic traditions the city developed.

You can visit the interior on weekdays when the church opens to visitors. Look for the entrance on Divina Enfermera Street, which is easy to spot in the area.

The famous sculptor Juan de Mesa is buried in this church and remembered by a ceramic plaque on the side facade. This memorial to one of the city's greatest artists makes the place a quiet testament to Seville's artistic past.
