Valladolid Science Museum, Science museum in Valladolid, Spain.
The Valladolid Science Museum is a science facility housed in a converted industrial complex spanning multiple floors with scientific exhibitions and a digital planetarium. The space features interactive displays and traditional exhibits covering various fields of natural science.
The building was originally a historic flour mill and was redesigned by architects Rafael Moneo and Enrique de Teresa. It opened as a museum in 2003, converting an industrial site into a modern educational facility.
The museum displays inventions from Castilla y León and houses the first Renault 4CV manufactured in Spain. These objects tell the story of local industrial heritage and regional pride in engineering.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday with varying hours depending on the season. Visitors should plan for longer sessions if they want to experience planetarium shows in addition to the permanent exhibitions.
The planetarium uses six aligned projectors to create immersive displays of the night sky on an inclined dome. The clarity and detail of this projection system make it one of the most advanced of its kind.
