Albox

The municipality stretches across 168 square kilometers of agricultural land, containing olive groves and citrus orchards at 420 meters above sea level.

Following its destruction by an earthquake in 1503, the town relocated and rebuilt, establishing its first municipal council under Anton de Andrano in 1563.

The Tuesday morning market fills the streets with vendors selling local produce, cured meats, cheeses, and regional products from the Almería Province.

Albox provides multiple services including banks, medical centers, schools, sports facilities, and a municipal swimming pool open during summer months.

The Chess Club of Albox gained national recognition by winning championships and organizing international tournaments, establishing the town as a chess center.
