Albox is a municipality located in the Almanzora Valley in Almería Province, stretching across agricultural land in this region. Olive groves and citrus orchards define the landscape around this area, which sits at an elevation of around 420 meters.
The town was destroyed by an earthquake in 1503 and was subsequently rebuilt in a different location. A municipal council was established in 1563 under Anton de Andrano, marking the beginning of organized local governance.
