Socuéllamos

Socuéllamos is a town in the province of Ciudad Real in the Castilla-La Mancha region. The landscape is relatively flat, dominated by vineyards and agricultural fields that stretch across the plains at a moderate elevation.

The town was founded in 1290 when the Master of the Order of Santiago granted a charter that offered tax breaks to those planting vineyards. A significant shift came in 1569 when families from Granada settled here, bringing new people and reshaping the community.
