Pueblo Chico, Miniature park in Valle de la Orotava, Spain.
Pueblo Chico was a miniature park in Valle de la Orotava that displayed scale models of Canarian buildings and natural features at 1:25 ratio. The park was organized into sections showing regional architecture, religious sites, and distinct landscapes found across the islands.
The park opened in 1999 and became a popular tourist attraction throughout the early 2000s. It eventually closed in 2015 after operating for over 16 years, marking the end of this hands-on showcase of island heritage.
The park was designed to showcase different aspects of Canarian culture through miniature representations and themed sections. These displays helped visitors understand the island's religious traditions and indigenous heritage in a compact setting.
The location in the Cruz Martillos area of La Orotava made it accessible from the main town areas. The grounds remain in place at the original site, though entry to the park is no longer available to visitors.
The park included a recreation of the Lunar Landscape of Vilaflor, a distinctive volcanic formation found on the islands. Alongside this was a dedicated garden showcasing native plant species that grow nowhere else in the world.
