Casa Fuster

Casa Fuster is a five-story residential building of white marble on Passeig de Gràcia, rising at a street corner in the heart of Barcelona. Its facade displays columns, sculptural ornaments, and detailed windows that showcase the modernist design of its era.

Lluís Domènech i Montaner designed this building in 1908, completing it in 1911 as one of the final major works of Catalan modernism. Its completion came as this architectural movement was reaching the end of its influential period in Barcelona.

The building carries the name of the Catalan industrialist who commissioned it, Josep Fuster, reflecting the tastes of Barcelona's wealthy class in the early 1900s. Walking past, you notice how the ornate details and marble work were meant to display success and refinement.

The building is located at Passeig de Gràcia 132 and now houses a luxury hotel with dining options. You can admire the exterior from the street or step inside to see how the interiors have been preserved and adapted for modern use.

The building has a triangular floor plan, designed to fit the intersection where three streets meet, creating an unusual geometric footprint. This distinctive shape gives it a striking silhouette that stands out from the typical rectangular houses around it.
