Co-cathedral of San Pedro

The Co-Cathedral of San Pedro is a Romanesque church in Soria featuring three naves of equal height with star-shaped vaults that rest on cylindrical columns. The interior displays characteristic Romanesque design elements throughout its balanced spatial arrangement.

A religious building first stood on this site in the 8th century, later becoming a collegiate church in the 12th century. After significant reconstruction in the 16th century, it gained co-cathedral status in 1959.

The southern side displays intricate carved figures and decorative details that blend religious imagery with ornamental work. This fine craftsmanship shapes the building's appearance and shows the artistic ambitions of earlier times.

The building is straightforward to find since it sits centrally in the city and is accessible from the main streets. The adjoining cloister offers additional spaces to explore and helps you understand the full layout.

Inside stands a chapel with a devotional painting that came from northern Europe and was commissioned by a prominent local family. This artwork ranks among the most valuable pieces found within the city.
