New Gothic Cathedral of St. Mary

The cathedral rises with pointed arches and ribbed vaults, displaying architectural features characteristic of late 15th-century religious buildings in Spain.

Construction of the New Gothic Cathedral began in 1498 under architect Juan de Álava, following a decree issued on January 17, 1401.

The interior houses numerous chapels, altars, and religious artwork that demonstrate Spanish ecclesiastical traditions from the Gothic period.

Visitors can access both the Old and New Cathedrals through a combined entrance ticket available at the main reception desk.

The cathedral contains a 17th-century altarpiece with carvings by Gregorio Fernández and paintings by Francisco Ricci.
