Castell de Serra, Medieval fortress in Serra, Spain
The stone castle stands at 536 meters elevation, featuring a square tower measuring 10 meters high and two fortified walls with defensive elements.
Built during the 8th and 9th centuries, the castle formed a defensive network with Náquera and Olocau fortresses to protect the Kingdom of Valencia.
The castle grounds serve as a location for regional celebrations and events that highlight the traditions of the Valencian Community.
The fortress remains can be reached through a two-hour circular hiking trail starting from the town of Serra, leading visitors through natural landscapes.
A preserved cistern in the lower section of the castle represents one of the most complete water storage systems from medieval Spain.
