Palau Ramon Montaner, Modernist palace in Dreta de l'Eixample, Spain
The Palau Ramon Montaner features ornamental motifs, marble mosaics, carved wooden panels, and a central staircase beneath a stained-glass botanical ceiling lamp.
Construction of the palace began in 1889 under Josep Domènech i Estapà, with Lluís Domènech i Montaner later taking over the project until completion in 1893.
The palace displays Catalan modernist architecture with Italianate influences, incorporating works by sculptor Eusebi Arnau and stained-glass artist Antoni Rigalt.
Located at Carrer de Mallorca 278 in Barcelona, the palace currently serves as the Spanish Government headquarters and opens to visitors on specific dates.
The building contains two independent luxury residences commissioned by the Montaner i Simón publishing house following the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exhibition.
