Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor

Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor is a Gothic church in Caspe with three naves divided into five sections, where the central nave is wider than the side ones. The building includes a non-protruding transept and features various interior divisions.

The building was originally a mosque but was transformed into a church following the reconquest of Caspe in 1169. Gothic features were added later, marking the architectural changes that occurred over several periods.

The main altar displays the Assumption of Mary in detailed form, while the choir stalls feature Renaissance craftsmanship with inlaid wood patterns and painted surfaces. These decorative works reflect the artistic skills and religious devotion that were important to the community of the time.
