Estadio Municipal de Linarejos, Football stadium in Linares, Spain.
The Estadio Municipal de Linarejos is a football stadium in Linares, Andalusia, with a natural grass pitch and stands on all sides for spectators. It sits within a wider sports complex that also contains outdoor courts and an indoor hall for other sports.
The stadium opened in August 1956 with a match between Real Jaén CF and Valencia CF, both clubs from Spain's top division at the time. Two years later, the original dirt surface was replaced with natural grass, changing the playing field entirely.
The stadium is the home ground of Linares Deportivo, and on match days the area around the entrance fills with supporters from across the town. Football here is part of daily life in Linares, and this ground is where that shared moment happens.
The stadium is on Avenida 1º de Mayo and is well signposted, making it easy to reach on foot from the center of Linares. The other sports facilities in the complex sit right next to it and can be reached without any difficulty.
The ground was originally home to Linares CF, the city's first football club, which no longer exists. The current club, Linares Deportivo, later took its place here, continuing a local football tradition on the same site that stretches back to the 1950s.
