Puerta de San Juan, Bermeo

The San Juan Door features a tower with an access gate and sections of defensive walls extending from both sides of the structure.

Built in the early 14th century, this door remains as one of the few preserved elements of the medieval wall that once surrounded Bermeo.

The architectural design incorporates both pointed Gothic arches on the exterior and segmental arches on the interior, reflecting medieval construction techniques.

Located in the historical center of Bermeo, the structure includes arrow slits in the upper section and recently reconstructed battlements on the left wall.

The door stands as a physical connection between the modern town and its maritime past, when it served as a control point for port access.
