Castillo de Torrejón de Velasco, Medieval castle in Torrejón de Velasco, Spain.
The rectangular fortress measures 37 meters long by 21 meters wide, featuring nine semicircular towers distributed along its perimeter and external stone walls.
Between 1432 and 1440, Bishop Gutierre Gómez de Toledo ordered the construction of this fortification, which later underwent modifications to accommodate larger artillery.
The castle served as a residence for King Charles V and Francis I of France in 1526 during negotiations for a marriage alliance with Princess Eleanor.
The fortress stands at the edge of town, next to the road leading to Torrejón de la Calzada and the path to Toledo.
The structure includes specialized cavities in its walls designed for nesting birds, particularly kestrels, integrated during recent restoration works.
