Tower of Éboli, Pinto

The Tower of Éboli is a defensive structure with a square base and rounded corners built from white stone blocks. Inside, the ground floor features a multifunctional room with a fireplace, while the walls bear the marks of centuries of use.

The tower was built under King John I of Castile around 1382 and belonged to Juana de Orozco. It later became a fortress where nobility was held captive.

The emblems on the eastern wall show the coat of arms of those who once controlled this place. They shape the tower's appearance today and remind visitors of the power structures of its era.

The building sits in the center of Pinto, a town south of Madrid, and is visible from the street. Visiting on foot is straightforward, as the surrounding area is flat and easy to walk around.

The tower served as a prison for high-ranking individuals caught in political disputes. Notable statesmen were held there briefly to isolate them from court power struggles.
