Centro Insular de Atletismo de Tenerife, Athletics stadium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain
Centro Insular de Atletismo de Tenerife is a sports stadium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with a modern running track and seating in white and blue. The facility sits in the Tíncer neighborhood and holds space for over 3,000 spectators.
The stadium opened in 2007 and was later featured in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Its design came from the architectural firm Artengo Menis Pastrana.
The stadium structure takes inspiration from the volcanic landscape of Tenerife, incorporating local materials and following the natural slope of the terrain.
The complex offers an indoor training area, a gym, a hydrotherapy pool, and a physiotherapy center for visitors. There are also on-site residential accommodations that can host up to 25 athletes.
Inside the complex sits a 1,600 square-meter (17,200 square-foot) training area designed specifically for events like long jump and sprint practice. This covered space allows year-round training regardless of weather conditions.
