El Sobradillo, Residential neighborhood in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain
El Sobradillo is a residential neighborhood in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, situated at an elevation of around 414 meters above sea level. The area sits between Los Andenes ravine and Las Hesperides Avenue, featuring typical urban apartment buildings and residential streets.
The neighborhood became part of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1972, when it was transferred from El Rosario municipality in a major administrative reorganization. This change reshaped the area into a modern residential district.
The neighborhood contains Guanche archaeological sites with ritual pools and rock engravings, declared Cultural Heritage Sites in 1999 under Canary Islands Historical Heritage Law.
The neighborhood is well served by various TITSA bus routes connecting it to different parts of the island. Getting around and reaching nearby areas like La Laguna or central Santa Cruz is relatively straightforward for visitors.
The area transformed from agricultural land into a densely populated residential zone over recent decades. This shift demonstrates how quickly the neighborhood adapted to become a modern urban residential hub.
