Iglesia de San Lorenzo

Iglesia de San Lorenzo is a Baroque church in the La Viña district featuring a Latin cross floor plan supported by Doric pilasters and barrel vaults. The interior is lit by lunettes in the vaults, and several side chapels with carved wooden details divide the space.

Construction started in 1722 under architect Juan Agustín López Algarín as part of Bishop Lorenzo Armengual's initiative. The building work proceeded rapidly and was completed within just a few years.

This church has always served as a gathering place for the neighborhood and reflects the faith that shaped the district. You can still see today how people use this space and what role it plays in their daily lives.

A distinctive octagonal tower rises at the corner where two facades meet, featuring Doric columns in Andalusian style. This tower gives the church a recognizable feature from the outside that sets it apart from other buildings in the area.
