Church of San Nicolás de Bari, Tudela

The Church of San Nicolás de Bari is a baroque structure featuring a main nave divided into sections and ending with a semicircular choir. A notable square tower topped with an octagonal section and a lead bulbous cupola defines the building's exterior.

A 12th-century predecessor with Romanesque features once stood here but was destroyed by repeated flooding from the Mediavilla River. The present baroque building rose in the 18th century to serve the community with a more resilient structure.

The name honors Saint Nicholas, a revered figure in local devotion. Visitors can observe the baroque embellishments today, which reflect how the community valued this sacred space.

A medieval tympanum at the church shows God the Father within a mandorla holding a child, surrounded by symbols representing the four evangelists. This rare and striking depiction remains clearly visible today and tells much about the artistic traditions of the period.
