Torre Monreal, Tudela, Medieval defensive tower in Tudela, Spain

Torre Monreal is a hexagonal brick tower with an underground water reservoir, positioned on a hill overlooking the southwestern area of Tudela. The structure stands elevated above the surrounding terrain and provides views across the city.

This defensive structure was built in the 13th century to serve as a watchtower protecting the city. It underwent complete reconstruction in 1883 during the Carlist Wars, changing much of its original form.

The tower houses information about the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian communities that shaped Tudela over centuries. Visitors can learn how these different cultures left their mark on the city's character and development.

The site is reachable on foot from the city center via a prepared pathway leading uphill. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since the route involves climbing to reach the elevated location.

Inside the tower is an optical projection device that displays a rotating 360-degree view of Tudela in real time. This innovative instrument allows visitors to see the surrounding city from a perspective that would otherwise be impossible from ground level.
